Pastor
William P. (Buddy) Nelson was born in Kansas City, Missouri and raised in Greenville, South Carolina and Birmingham, Alabama. Buddy is a graduate of Mountain Brook High School, Samford University, and Southern Seminary. He has served in the following churches: First Baptist Birmingham as youth minister, Liberty Baptist Church in Leitchfield, Kentucky as pastor, First Baptist Oxford, Alabama as pastor, Riverchase Baptist in Hoover, Alabama as pastor and has been at First Baptist McClellan since May of 2002.
Buddy, a pastor's son, married Becky Bowles of Texas, who happens to be a pastor's daughter. Together they have two children, Bill and Brook, and a wonderful granddaughter Madelyn.

Visitation Coordinator
Wayne is a native of Union, SC. He received his B.A. in Economics and Business Administration at Furman University in Greenville, SC and his Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry at Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, KY.
Wayne's wife, Carol Lois, went to be with the Lord several years ago. She was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. D.M. Nelson, Jr. They had four children: Art, a banker in Jackson, MS; a daughter, Beth Meehan, who lives in Jacksonville, AL; Chip, pastor of FBC Starkville, MS; and Charles, who is Minister to Youth at First Methodist Church in Carlsbad, NM.
Wayne says he loves to play golf, even though he can't remember the last time he played. He also thoroughly enjoys the time he is able to spend with his eleven grandchildren. |

Part-Time Respite Coordinator
Originally from Oxford, Ashley has a Doctorate of Ministry in Theology from Covington Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from UAB.
A certified Disaster Relief Chaplain for the Southern Baptist Association and a member of the chaplain program at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital, Ashley also has experience in women's ministries, youth ministries, and children's ministries.

With a passion and fire for Jesus, you will always see Matt with a smile on his face.
Matt is currently enrolled at JSU and is involved in JSU's Baptist Campus Ministries. He is engaged to the beautiful and talented Jessica Jennings.

Children's Coordinator
Mandi serves our church as Children's Coordinator. She oversees our Children's programs and teaches Children's Church.
Mandi is pursuing her master's degree at JSU. She is married to David Pearce, and they reside in Munford.

Part-Time Publications Secretary
Susan recently joined our staff as our part-time Publications Secretary. Susan has extensive church office experience. Her bubbly personality and brilliant smile make her the perfect addition to our front office.
She and her husband Bobby have 4 children and 6 grandchildren.

Part-Time Financial Secretary
Dora recently joined our staff as our part-time Financial Secretary. An experienced church secretary, her mild personality and sweet smile hide a sharp and analytical mind.
She and her husband Joe have two daughters, one granddaughter, and two grandsons.

Full-Time Church Secretary
Mary oversees the day-to-day running of the church office. She feels that her position is not just a job but a calling, and relies upon the words from Galations 6:9 as her life verse: "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
A graduate of Carlisle High School in Ohio, Mary is currently pursuing her Bachelor's Degree in Leadership Studies online through the University of Alabama.
She is married to Buster Turner. They have three children and three grandchildren. Mary is a certified Ministry Assistant and has been a church secretary for over 17 years.
